Mission and Bylaws

MISSION STATEMENT To provide and promote a recreational activity for the residents of Sunland Village East (SVE Assn) including rules, instruction and equipment and in addition, facilitating control and maintenance of said equipment and the Bocce Ball courts of the Association.

BYLAWS

1. The name of the organization shall be Sunland Village East Bocce Ball Club

2. Membership shall be limited to members of the SVE Assn or tenants of said members. No previous experience is needed. Each member shall have the opportunity to participate in club activities.

3. There shall be six Board Members consisting of four elected officers;

President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer and two elected Members-at-Large. All Board members are elected for a tenn of two years. Voting for these Officers and Board Members-at-Large will take place at the Spring meeting — Officers of President and Secretary and one Member at Large will be elected in even years and Officers of Vice President and Treasurer in addition to one Member-at-Large in years ending in the odd number. This practice is to maintain experience and continuity in the Board membership at all times. (A husband and wife may serve on the Board at the same time.)

Duties of the Board members:

The President shall preside over Board meetings, the Spring, the Fall meeting, and any other meetings called. The President will also appoint any necessary committees.

The Vice-President shall preside in the absence of the President and perform such other duties as requested by the President.

The Secretary shall record and read minutes of all scheduled meetings and handle any and all correspondence.

The Treasurer shall collect all monies, maintain a roster of members and submit detailed reports to the Board and to the melnbership at all meetings as to the expenditures and current balances at the time.

Board Members-at-Large shall attend Board meetings, vote on all motions and perform any other duties as requested by the President.

The President shall vote only when a tie exists.

A Quonun at any general meeting is defined as a majority of the membership at that meeting.

At least four Board Members are required for any meeting to be held.

Should a member of the Board find he/she is unable to complete the tem of office, the Board of Directors may select a replacement to fill the vacancy for the remainder of the tenn.

A nominating committee consisting of three members shall be appointed by the Board to present candidates for OffcersÆoard Members at Large to the membership at the Spring meeting. The committee shall be in place one month prior to the Spring meeting. Additional nominations may be made from the floor at the Spring meeting with the prior approval of the nominee.

The Board shall make recommendations regarding annual dues and other money-raising activities to the membership. These recommendations must be approved by majority vote of the attending members.

4. The Spring meeting shall be held each year for the purpose of determining changes and activities for the coming season, the preliminary development of the Winter schedule of league play and election of members of the Board. Other business needing discussion may be proposed.

A second meeting will be held in the Fall of each year for collection of dues, completion of the Winter schedule of league play and any other business needing discussion.

The agenda, date, time and location of all general meetings must be posted a minimum of one week prior on the Club bulletin board. The President may call additional meetings as required.

By-laws may be changed by approval vote of the membership at either the Spring or the Fall meeting. By-laws and proposed amendments to the bylaws shall be posted on the Club bulletin board and copies made available to the members upon request. This posting shall take place a minimum often days prior to a vote.

5. Should any Club By-laws conflict with the By-laws of the SVE Assn. then Club By-laws will be eliminated or revised to comply with the By-laws of the SVE Assn.
